Here is the list of achievements for the past three months. Stay ahead to celebrate success.
World`s Biggest Event Smart Hackathon conducted by MHRD & AICTE – BITans won First Prize
The world`s biggest smart hackathon was conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), India and AICTE to solve the problems faced by the organization. The grand finale of software edition was held on 02/03/19 &03/03/19 across 46 nodal centers nationwide to select the winner for each problem statement and there were nearly 1000 participants in this hackathon contest.
Our BIT students Bharani Ashwanth M, Hari Prasath N, Pavithra S, Poovarasan S, Pavithra S, and Kamalesh V from Department of ECE has taken the steps to solve the major issues in the tracking of the vital parameters of the medicines. MHRD India and AICTE awarded First prize with the cash award of Rs. 75,000 for their project “Squad help”.
BITians achieved the Eminent World Record conducted by Microsoft Wikitechy and International Cyber Forensics, Chennai
Our IT department student MR. Bharathraj K achieved the Eminent World Record under the theme “World’s Biggest International Hands-on Gaming & Security Workshop” organized by Microsoft Wikitechy and International Cyber Forensics, Chennai.
BITians Won World’s largest Hackathon(India Israel) organized by Innovation Valley-Government of Andhra Pradesh
The sunrise state’s Andhra Pradesh Innovation society (APIS) in association with DCF Ventures have conducted the largest 2 Nations Hackathon, called Sunrise Open Challenge Hackathon (SOCH), between India and Israel on February 2 and 3, at Visakhapatnam.
Our students Bharatraj S(ECE), Dharini Subburajulu(ECE), Deepak K(ECE), Madhu Priya(IT), Darshan G(ECE) have participated in Sunrise Open Contest Hackathon conducted by India and Israel organized by Innovation Valley, Government of Andhra Pradesh on February 2&3 at Visakhapatnam. The students have won First prize along with a cash prize of Rs.1.5 lakh in this international contest. Additionally, as a wonderful opportunity, they are going to get the funding from Israel to develop their project into a commercial product in collaboration with Innovation Valley, Andhra Pradesh.
BITians participation in Solidworks world 2019, Texas
One of our highest priorities at SOLIDWORKS is to help students build the career of their dreams.“SOLIDWORKS World” brings over 200+ technical sessions to help the young minds to expand their skill set, increase productivity, and quickly turn their ideas into amazing new products.
This event has been conducting by Dassault system for shaping the imaginations of the younger minds. National Level design competition AAKRUTI 2018, held at Dassault system -La Foundation, Hinjewadi, Pune.
After participating in a different set of rounds in AAKRITI 2018 filtered the best design concepts around 1120 teams, 12 teams only were finally selected for the final round to attend the conference of Solidworks World 2019 at Texas. Among that top 12 teams, we were one of the teams, of name Balamurugan T, Selvakumar J from 3rd-year Mechanical, from BIT.
All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) granted a sum of Rs. 2,00,000 – as Financial Assistance towards “Support to Students for Participation in Competition Abroad Scheme ” for participating in “Solidworks Worlds’ 2019”, Texas, USA.
BITians trained Malaysian Students on AR/VR at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation and had Winter Internship at Malaysia
The winter internship of BIT students at Malaysia through the support of APU was a transformative experience for them and they would encourage any BIT student or prospective student to learn more about such an incredible winter internship and program opportunities that BIT offers.
BIT students Yogesh K, Vikram G, Dhanush R, and Abhinav Sudharsan S had their stupendous internship program at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation(APU) at Malaysia. They have gained a pool of experience in the AR/VR Lab at APU.
In addition to that, they have delivered a hands-on session to the students of Asia Pacific University of Technology and innovation.
The lecturing sessions of BIT students continued for 2 hours where they explained about the introduction to Virtual reality, How to use the blender to create a 3d object, How to use the unreal engine for making virtual reality environments and experiences in virtual reality environment.
As a part of the Internship and training program, each of them received Rs.9000/- as remuneration for the internship.
BITians Won National Level Hackathon under Environment Category
The grand finale of KL Hackleague – A National wide Hackathon initiated by Berkeley Andhra Organization (An Alliance between AP Government & Berkeley University of California) was organized at KL University, Guntur from 03/01/2019 to 05/01/2019. Around 400+ teams comprising of 2000+ students have participated in this event.
Our BITians ECE team “Hack ‘O’ Holics” won the first prize of Rs. 50,000 in the title of “Asthmate” under the “Environment” category. The team members are Bharatraj S, Dharini Subburajulu, Bharani Aswath M, Hariprasath N, and Kamalesh V.

Our Auto Department BITians Mr. Senthilraja M, Mr. Hemachandran R filed a patent titled as “A SMART SPINE REST FOR MOTOR ” in January 2019. File No.201941001307
BITians Mr. M Vijaya Sridhar, Mr. J Desikan, Mr. N Abhishek, Dr. K. S. Vairavel, Mrs. K Lakshmi from EIE department filed a patent on the title “A Device and Method for Simultaneous Monitoring and Controlling Egg hatching system“ on 28.2.2019. File No: 201941007798
BITian won the Young Scientist and Best Innovation Award in IPSC
The Indian Plant Science Congress 2019 held at SRM University aims to bring together the scholars from all fields for plant science, including plant-environment interactions. It covers basic science as well as modern biology from species description by taxonomy to species modification by gene editing.
Our BIT student Mr. G. Suresh from ECE department won the Young Scientist Award and Best Innovation Award in Indian Plant Science Congress held at SRM University on 29.01.2019.
Best Mechanical Design Award at IIT, Kharagpur
Asia’s Largest Techno-Management festival was held for a span of three days from 19th January to 21st January 2019 with a participation of 60,000 students from across the country for great innovations and new ideas for students.
Our BITians A. Naveen Shankar, M. Mohamed Irsath, M. Vijayakumar, S. Gokul prasand awarded as the Best Mechanical Design Award in the Robotics event “Zenith”. M. Vijayakumar of Mechanical Department won the first prize with the cash award of Rs. 15,000 at “Sand Rover” event.
BITians won First Prize at IIT, Madras
Shaastra is the annual technical festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai, conducted on 5th and 6th January 2019.
Mohamed Irshath from mechanical department won the First prize with the cash award of Rs. 30,000 at Manual Robotics event conducted by IIT Madras.
BITians won First Prize at IIT, Jodhpur
IGNUS, the Annual Techno-Cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur brings a great opportunity to learn Android App Development in one day workshop.
Our BIT EEE department students, Balaganesh G, Ananth sarvesh S. B, Dhayanithi M. S, Bharani raj, Deepak s, Karthi C won the first prize in Robo soccer and 2nd prize in Light Following Bot events held at IGNUS ’19 techfest at IIT, Jodhpur.
BITians won First Prize at IIT, Madras
BITians of Civil Department G Eniya Chandramouli, J R Pranesh, K Krishna Kumar, A Bharani Kumaran, R Bagawath, Deepak won the First prize and Cash prize of Rs. 6000 for Each at ENCODE Steel Event at CEA Fest 2019, on March 10, at IIT Madras.
BITians got Special Appreciation from Jury Panel and Professors of IIT, Kanpur
A BITians team which includes students Brahadesh S B, Vignesh M, Thangeswaran D, Vivek D, Dharun Nithish Kumar from interdisciplinary have participated in National Level Technical Meet held at IIT, Kanpur with their project “WATERIA”.
They got a Special Appreciation from the Jury Panel and IIT Professors for the idea and the problem addressed. The Project has secured the 7th place in the overall ranking and 1st place in category wise.
BITians achievements at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology(IIST), Trivandrum
Mechanical Engineering students of BIT- Kavin Y, Vijayakumar M, Gokul Prasanna S, Vignesh G, Mohamed Irsath M won the 2nd prize in RC Car, 3rd prize in The Amphibot. They also won the 4th prize in Robo war Event and a total cash prize of Rs. 12,500 in CONSCIENTIA’19 at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum on March 4’19.
BITians achievements at SAEINDIA
SAEINDIA conducted SAE Tier II event (Intercollege event) in Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai on 19.01.2018. SAEINDIA is India’s leading resource for mobility technology.
BIT’s Modeling and Prototyping Cell (MPC) students have secured First, Second and Third places in the category of Oil Seal Design and Design of Assembly in SAE Tier II event. The team of Aswin Raj Y and Prakash A have secured 1st place in Design of Assembly and 2nd place in Oil seal design and the team of Mohamed Salim & Arvind Swamy S secured 1st place in Oil seal design and 3rd place in Design of Assembly.
Paper presented by BITians won first prize on women smart Safety Device
BITians Computer Science Students K Deepan Kumar, R Thaksin won First Prize for the Paper presented on “Smart Safety Device for Women Abuse using IoT” at Professional Group of Institutions, Coimbatore on 08.03.2019.
TNSCST Granted Fund for BITians Project
Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology had granted fund of Rs. 7500, For BITians project, “Harvesting of Electricity from Handloom Weaving Machine coupled with power generator Dynamo” by BIT’s Mechanical Students, Mukesh R, Harish V N N, Vivek G.
BIT AUV team was one of the `Top 3 teams from India’ Shortlisted for International Challenge
BIT AUV Team was one of the ‘Top 3 teams from India’, shortlisted for International Unmanned Underwater Competition held at Singapore. An interdisciplinary team of 12 members of BIT with 9 members from the Mechanical Engineering department and 3 students from the ECE department qualified for SAUVC ’19, Singapore.
BITians won Gold Medal in SREC Alumni Trophy
Gold Medal won by our BIT women Ball BAdminton players in The SREC Alumni
Trophy ‘19 at Inter Engineering College Women Ball Badminton Tournament held at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore on 02.03.2019.
BITians won Gold and Bronze Medal at Chief Minister’s Trophy
BIT students G C Dinesh won the Gold medal in Triple Jump, K S Vetrivel won the Gold medal in Discus Throw, V S Arunprasad won the Bronze medal in Discus Throw, B Sudharshine won the Bronze medal in Discus Throw at Chief Minister’s Trophy under the guidance of BIT’s Physical Education Department.
BITian won Gold Medal in The First Tamil Nadu Open State Taekwondo Championship 2019
S Keerthana, BIT – Food Technology Student, a Taekwondo artist registered a preeminent win of the gold medal in the first Tamil Nadu Open State Taekwondo Championship 2019. It was held at Mahatma Gandhi indoor stadium at Salem from 08/02/2019 to 10/02/2019.
BITians won Bronze Medal in Men’s Hockey Tournament, at SREC
BIT’s Men’s Hockey Team won the Bronze medal in Inter Engineering College Men’s Hockey Tournament with the cash award of Rs. 1500, in The SREC Alumni Trophy – 2019, held at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore on 03.03.2019.
