Is Learning essential..?
Learning, very first reason for the existence of living creatures on this planet… Most of the theories about the existence of the universe start with, Big Bang. According to the Big Bang theory, the diversity, what we see in the world today, has just originated from a singularity. The dense, unimaginably hot point, from where the whole universe expanding yet. The universe is a complex mixture of galaxies, stars, planets, and all forms of matter or energy. Space and time are prime content.
Almost 1500 crore years ago, a speck of solid dust shattered and shaped the earth. Also created the earth’s crust, ocean, living creatures, human beings, and still evolving. This evolution will continue at least till the sun and gravity exist (~500 crore years). In a nutshell, the whole evolution process depends upon the ability to remember/ forget. Humans possess the potential to connect and imagine the possibilities. Basically this we call, LEARNING. Learning is scientifically defined in the modern era as the process of acquiring knowledge, new understanding, behavior, skill, values, attitudes, and preferences. Learning is common for all living creatures, even some plants are able to learn based on the evidence from Professor Gagliano’s experiment on Pisum sativum plants.
The ideology of Living Creatures…
Plants do have reproduction and breathing potential. A plant is an evolving creature. All living forms of the earth are learning. Of course, learning helps to acquire skills. Adaptation is also the result of learning. However, the sense of living creatures grows with virtue. Humans could interpret with common sense. Common sense is a symbol of learning. Higher vertebrates consider learning as a boon. Civilizations help realize the inner self of humans.
How do Humans differ..? What do you think is the reason for the evolution of stone age man to modern man..? What do you think is the basis for the intelligence to carry out research beyond our earth..?
The era of Modern Education…
Definitely, learning and interest to learn by humans is the reason for all the evolution as mentioned above. The results of learning are what we see today as a technologically equipped modern world. Learning has the ability to change the habitat of an individual is a proven concept. Historically successful people are all different by their habit of learning by default. Achievers are those who learn new skills/ values beyond curriculum-based education.
The polyglot, Mahakavi Bharathiar considered his books are only assets. When asked by a journalist, the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, that what if he was left alone on an island..? He generously replied that he love to stay with his books all day. Those who know the taste of reading, they can’t forsake it easily. Learning helps in aggravating knowledge. It aids to communicate with new languages and technical skills. According to the American philanthropist Paul tutor Jones, “Intellectual Property will soon overtake financial assets”. Hence, self-learning becomes inevitable in the new era of the 21st century.
Winston Churchill mentioned that the best gift for a child is always a book. In line with the pace of scientific advancements in the world, it is necessary to upgrade ourselves with self-learning. Learning expands the experience and intellect of a person. Skill sets are more productive because of self-learning. In the future, the institutions become more vibrant. Institutions may change the learning strategies which is need of the hour.
The habit of Learning…
Budding technocrats can deliver a better future through a culture of open learning. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Gates are profoundly celebrated. All of them have achieved something significant in life. In fact, books are the primary reason for their current positions. Elon Musk used to read at least two books per day. While growing Bill gates read almost fifty books per year. Even now, Mark Zuckerberg reads at least two books per week in spite of his work schedules. If I’ve to explain economically, learning is the best investment which provides you interest throughout your life. The investment was never perishable.
Make a habit of preparing your own notes. Also, have a habit of exploring daily reads/ facts/ laws. Always maintain a journal to differentiate what to learn and learned. In fact, this enhances your confidence level. It also gives you pride in knowing. In this digital era, you shall bookmark the pages or books to reduce the time of searching the content to read. Information is the source of success in the upcoming era. Information can be bestowed as the secret of success.
Learning is Humane..!
Reading is the inception of learning but not learning itself. Unless we understand the full meaning of the sentences, learning goes in vain. Mere reading doesn’t help in gaining knowledge. It requires deep understanding. Sharing the knowledge with peers grows the understanding of the subject. Nowadays, the virtual learning platform offers numerous options for adaptive/ self-learning. Google workspace has a sophisticated learning process. It is a boon for higher education.
Good Learning changes the way you see the world. Learning also enhance your virtue by making you speak with the author of the book you read. Through this, you impact the world through good deeds and changes. Learning perfects the human. Because it makes you think and take responsibilities. It also boosts confidence level… Remember, learning is humane..!
