Christmas is the greatest joyous moment of the annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the benefactor of Christianity. It was on December 25th that Lord Jesus born at Bethlehem. Jesus Christ, the most important character in Christianity is believed to be the founder of the Christian religion. So Christmas is a great Christians festival. Now a days, it is celebrated across the world mindless of caste and class. The birth of Jesus is considered on one the most important event in world history.

Jesus Christ took birth on this earth to save humanity from hardship and darkness. Every year, this sacred day is observed with religious spirit, in great enjoyment and with sincere prayers by Christians all over the world. Billions of people all over the the world celebrate this day. Throughout the year, they wait for the arrival of Christmas and the preparations for the ceremony start a fortnight before the actual day.

Special Christmas canticle are sung in churches and abbeys. It is also an opportunity for family meet. people wore new clothes and present gifts to each other. The two special features of Christmas are the Christmas tree and Christmas cake. There are Christmas trees and Christmas cake in every house on this occasion. They prepare delicious foods and cakes in their house.

People around the world start shopping a few days before the festival season. Huge crowd can be seen in market places and shopping malls. In many parts of the world, shopkeepers decorate their shops with the Christmas theme.

The character of Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas are very popular among young children. Children eagerly wait for Santa Claus. They believe that Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas would come and give them gifts. Santa Claus is a figure of protector and friend of the children. The spread of love and peace among mankind is the foremost message of Christmas.
