Employability during Covid 19 Lockdown

It is the most unexpected thing to happen in this world. We are being forcibly locked up inside our houses. We were starving for reading, and now we have it in abundance but, of course, we aren’t happy with this. If it is why, we are in rest for a long period, with great restrictions. Human minds hate rules and restrictions. Still, we aren’t out of the danger instead it is growing like a monster.

Stay home! Stay safe! This slogan can help only if we are ready to implement it. We can never give any excuse, for the losses that the world is facing right now. All the countries are suffering from an economic crisis.

Covid-19, besides being a death-causing virus, it has taken away the livelihood of many people all around the world. Losing a job and starving for food has become a usual thing due to this lockdown. People who live on daily wages are the most suffered ones. If this is the case, on the other side most people are busy, rarely finding time to relax and some are breaking heads, thinking about what to do with this enormously available time.  How is this possible? This sets a very big question mark in front of us.

Lockdown has given birth to such a lot of business ideas and a wide range of livelihoods. People have started taking up initiatives to support their families by some means of working from home. Covid-19, lockdown, and social distancing have put up a great demand on us, to keep everything normal but by staying away from the usual lifestyle. Is this really possible?

Of course yes. IT professionals have started work from home while schools and colleges have started online classes. Schools and colleges which banned gadgets usage inside the campus have brought the classroom into their gadgets. Online classes have got a wide reach and many schools and colleges are carrying it out successfully. Most of the students are eagerly taking up private online certificate courses to add credits to the CV. This eventually led to the emergence of a wide range of online courses. The most challenging factor in implementing this is connectivity. There are still a lot of remote villages in India that are out of reach for network accessibility. Overcoming these is very important.

If someone wears a mask on the road, we were used to wondering why, but now? We can see masks on everyone and it has become the most essential thing for us. Wearing a mask has become one of the social necessities. It eventually became fashion too. A youngster who is always fashion lovers usually hates wearing the usual masks. To attract their attention, fashionable masks production has been started. Masks that would match with their dress, with elastics, with ropes that would help them adjust according to their face, materials used as per their need. New mask manufacturers have emerged. This has increased the production of masks which improved the livelihood of the manufacturers and laborers. Many new producers have emerged. Tailors have started stitching masks.

Sanitizer, the must thing that everyone should use. Sanitizing will protect one from microbes and so, a large number of people are using these sanitizers. The sanitizer has become an essential thing like air for every human. We are in great danger and we see sanitizer as our lifesaver. This also saves people from facing financial problems. A large need for sanitizers has eventually increased its production rate and thus the livelihood of many has improved.

On the other hand, people have started giving colors to their dreams. They are eagerly giving a business outlook to their hobbies. And thus hobbies are now turning employees into employers. Many poets, story writers, artists, actors, teachers, reviewers, you tubers, directors, dancers, singers, orators, psychological advisors, typists, and more have emerged in this lockdown period. This shows people are ready to utilize time profitably. They are searching for some sort of support that would help them widen their business and establish their talents.  Many startups too have emerged to support these young talents (young talents don’t mean the talents of youths, it is the talent that is in its initial stage), wherein they create a platform for people to establish themselves independently and come out with great success.

Many young people, use their technology in the agri field and they are becoming farmers now. They started working on their field to get some yield that will support their livelihood. Agriculture is an art that needs a lot of time and patience. People are able to spend time on farming, due to this quarantine. Once they started getting yield, they come into the market as a salesperson too. So they are able to save the labor charge. Yet there is a difficulty in selling all the yields completely, and the left out vegetables are rotted.

People who don’t find the usual profit in their regular business are too ready to shift on to the other. A person who is well known as an insane stick seller has become a vegetable vendor, due to this lockdown. He in need of proper livelihood has changed his business.

People are ready to do anything legally that they believe, will help them earn.

Above all, we are in the most crucial time period. This pandemic outbreak is really unexpected and has to be faced. We aren’t in the place of ignoring this. We must have some knowledge about the COVID-19 virus, and the safety measures to be taken to prevent ourselves and our society. Yes, it is a very difficult thing to follow all the rules laid by the government, but we have to. Of course, money is important for living, but being alive is more important. So follow all the safety measures, and ensure your safety before you get into any sort of new activity. We will definitely get through this pandemic one day, and that day is not so long. Stay home stay safe and ensure the safety of your loved ones. Let’s all stand away, together, against this pandemic.
