Eat Less, Sweat More & Get Fit at Lockdown
It has been already four months in the Lockdown and we are all working from home. Work from home made us to spend more time with our families and most importantly we Indians get into the festive mode when all the family members gather together at home. India is not only famous for its varied culture but we also have delectable cuisine and many mouth-watering foods. In this Lockdown period, since the restaurants are not open, we try many new recipes at home, enjoying varieties and post it in our social media. Here are some Questions I wanted to throw at you all:
What about our Health and Fitness in this Lockdown period?
How much weight have you gained in this last three months?
Are you really interested in losing the weight and be fit? If yes, then this blog will really help you.
Weight Gain during Lockdown
During this Lockdown, not only Mothers cook but also fathers and kids started cooking different recipes. We Bake Cake and Pizza at home without Oven and briyani’s at every Weekend and everyone would have tried many sweets even North Indian famous rasagulla’s. Definitely Social Media and Internet have made us to turn as a Master Chef. But most importantly we are failing to notice that our activities are less. Adding up the calories, sitting in front of the Laptop and having less activity will lead in gaining of weight.
Fitness Hacks
Let me give you some tips to stay fit even by enjoying delectable cuisine at home. Staying fit will not only make you a healthy person but also a confident and happier person. To keep ourselves confident and happy in these tough situations is a necessary one.
a. Eat less and Cautious more
I don’t mean that you should starve for the food. Eating less means controlling yourself while you are eating and eat according to your level of hunger and not more than that. You can eat whatever you want to have but not more than a limit. Concentrate on easily digestive food in your diet like vegetables, pulses fruits and so on. Do you know a fact that Mutton takes 48 hours to digest so eat Non-vegetarian once in a while.
b. Avoid Greasy foods
Greasy foods are those that are fried or cooked with excess oil such as chips, fries, parotta and pizza. Know more about your body and your eating habits. If you are starving to eat the greasy food, you can definitely have but compare it with your daily activities and make a move accordingly.
c. Home Workout
Some of you were going for the Gym to maintain fitness, but now during this lockdown period Gyms are closed and it might even take long time to be opened. So, it is always better to have workout at home. To do workout, one doesn’t need separate heavy machines for abs, legs, glutes etc. But Practicing Yoga is as good as Gym workout and even other methods like Zumba makes your workout interesting. You may have a doubt that how I would learn yoga or Zumba in this lockdown? Why not, we have learning classes for everything in YouTube or other social media. At least, you can have a walk on the terrace of your home for an hour.
d. Take sufficient Rest
It doesn’t matter how much diet you take or workout you do, if you do not take sufficient rest, it will spoil your health. We work for the whole day and at night if we sunk in social media, watching films in Netflix or Amazon prime, it might disturb your sleep time and in turn you might gain weight instead of losing. Having sound sleep at night will not only make you fresh in the morning but also healthy.
e. Have plenty of water
Make yourself hydrated especially when you do intense exercises. Drinking more water will help you to be away from many diseases. If you really want to lose your weight, have a lot of warm water. Take more warm water early in the morning and also before your bed. Many say different patterns for drinking water but still I would say to have 2 cups of water before things like bathing, exercising, taking a meal etc. Drink water at regular intervals.
Conclusion
Gaining weight is natural because of our food habits. But everyone should definitely work on their food habits and act accordingly by having physical workouts. Most of us are trying to lose weight by eating nothing in the name of diet. But that will not give results or it may affect your health. So, it is necessary to be healthy and fit. You may apply the above tips for losing weight and be fit. Lockdown should not make us down, so stay fit and stay healthy.
