Happiness begins with you
Living life to its utmost happiness is what everyone wishes, but does everyone achieves it. Remember – Happiness starts with you!!!
Value of Family Support:
In a village, there lived a young couple in a small hut with meagre earnings. Both were under-educated due to a lack of awareness of their parents. They had a boy named Byron who was just 7 years old. Only the husband was employed as a daily wage worker. Sometimes, he used to take Byron with him to make him feel pleasant instead of playing at home all alone. Since only the husband was earning, they had to plan carefully to spend even a penny to buy groceries and other household things.
Value of Joy:
Even though their wallet was empty, their hearts were filled with joy. Whenever the husband feels low, the wife used to encourage him with positive thoughts. They were leading a life that, even their neighbours understood that joy is something beyond money.
Value of Education:
They had a dream to provide good education to their son Byron. So, sometimes they avoided spending on items which they felt unnecessary for basic living. It was a small village, with a primary school. They managed to get admission for their son as they were aware of the value of education. The school was 3 kilometres away from their home.
Value of Father’s Shadow:
But as days passed, Byron thought of taking a shortcut to the school through a jungle. It is because he is familiar with the routes of the jungle as he used to take such routes whenever he went out with his dad. The parents came to know about this shortcut used by their son but did not bother much as it is not a dangerous path except for a small river and Byron has to cross it to reach his school.
Value of Friends:
Friends are the first society everyone interacts with. Usually, all feel happy to meet friends. Our hero is no exception. Byron was happy to attend school as he got many friends there. He was regular, obedient, calm and attentive in the class. This was liked by his teachers and friends. He liked to attend school as he can meet his friends and play. He used to be interested in whatever he does. Be it in studies or games, he shows his full interest in what he does. During the playtime, occasionally fell and got hurt but never blamed or fought with his friends.
Value of Thinking-Smart:
One day as he was going to school, a dog started chasing him. Byron had never experienced this sort of thing. He ran fast, faster…but the dog just followed the same. He climbed on the tree branches to escape. The dog was still there barking. Somehow, he jumped; he ran, he shouted back at the dog, slipped one or two times and finally escaped from the dog. He finally crept inside the bushes and climbed on the branches of the tree where the dog cannot reach. As he was busy trying to escape from the dog, he missed to note the river beside and slipped in, thereby getting wet. His uniform was wet but he doesn’t think of returning home to change his dress.
Value of Sharing:
As he walked to the school, the dress dried up partially. On reaching the school, his fellow mates started laughing at him as he was wearing a dress that was partially wet. He waited till the teacher leaves for the day and at break time, he gathered all of his friends and explained how he escaped from the dog and got wet with huge laughter. All the students laughed a lot listening to this incident of Byron.
Takeaways:
Here Byron could have sat and cried over the whole day as his friends made fun of him. Rather he chose to be happy by not spoiling his mood. He narrated the incident and he too laughed with others. There may be situations in our life chasing us like a dog. Failures laughing at us like friends. But it is in our hands to learn from those situations to jump, climb using the failures and reach success like Byron.
Happiness and joy are always around us. But, we fail to feel the happiness and mourn at the unwanted things. We are all human creatures who are created with 6 senses to know the good and bad, to show love, care and affection, to share the happiness, to take care of our beloved ones. We all run behind money which we presume as an essential element to bringing happiness in life. But the real fact is, money is just a basic component and a medium of exchange, a medium to value the worth of a thing, a medium of paying someone for the manpower spent.
It’s now or never!!!
Even now, it is not late to understand that happiness is within us that we fail to showcase many times with our friends, our relatives, our colleagues and with our spouses. From now on, let us make the moment lighter by finding happiness in a non-sense fight with our friends, in a quarrel with our relatives, in the small discomforts with our colleagues at the workplace and in the cute fight with our spouses. Remember we are here to be happy and make others happy too!
