BIT Bringing Changes Among Government School Students!!
The investment in the library is an investment in our children’s future. Keeping that figure in mind, With the intention of helping the young minds in the Government schools to inspire and envision a bright future and to attain the great privilege of education Bannari Amman Institute of Technology in association with The Hindu Group jointly distributed books for the Government School libraries in Erode District.
As a CSR Initiative the book distribution function was held on 9th August 2019 – Friday, at Vedhanayagam Auditorium, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam.
More than 100 sets of book bundles, each with 36 different books, worth Rs. 8.3 lakh was donated in this initiative for the Government School in Erode District.
The Book Distribution Function – A CSR Initiative
The function started with thamizhthai vazhthu by students. Dr C. Palanisamy, Principal of BIT welcomed the gatherers.
The book distibution function was graced by the chief guest Thiru Ara. Arularasu I.P.S, Superintendent of Police, Namakkal District and the presiding guest Mr Selvaraj, District Educational Officer, Erode.
The BIT Chairman Thiru. S. V. Balasubramaniam was the guest of honour, and the function was held with the presence of Mr Vijayasukumar, Territory Manager – The Hindu, Coimbatore and Dr M P Vijayakumar IAS (Retd) Trustee – Bannari Amman Institute of Technology. Headmasters and headmistress of the Government schools in the Erode district also gathered during the function.
The chief guests were honoured by the BIT chairman and the Trustee with a shawl and memento.
During the Chief guest address, Thiru Ara. Arularasu IPS admired the function as “Arivukodai Vizha” and he said,
“Books can change the world and our lives are built by books. Our history can be known only by learning books.”
He also suggested the books of the famous authors Thiruvalluvar, Leo Tolstoy, Karl Marx, Stephen Hawking for the students to read and elevate their lives.
Mr Selvaraj, District Educational Officer, Erode delivered the special address, in that he advised the students to read more books to enhance their lives.
Mr Vijayasukumar, Territory Manager of The Hindu, Coimbatore, appreciated the BIT management for the arrangements and he told that the distributed books are invaluable and he asked the headmasters to advise their students to make at most use of them.
The chief guest, Thiru Ara. Arularasu IPS distributed the books to the school headmasters. More than 100 schools were beneficiaries of this initiative.
Thiru G Sathiskumar, Regional Head – The Hindu, Salem. delivered the vote of thanks and the function ended with National anthem.
