Pull stop to the problems of Smart clothes
Scientists have developed a new technology that is based on a textile display technique. The product is washable and it also does not require an external power source. As a result, it directs a way to smart clothes.
As far as considering clothes they are usually made up textiles. They are easily wearable as well as washable. It can be used on a daily basis. Such a kind of smart clothes faced a problem with its suitable power source and moisture permeability. These problems led the devices to malfunction.
Professor Kyung Cheol Choi from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) was working to fix out the problem of external power sources and to enhance the practicability of wearable displays. He fabricated their wearing display modules on real textiles. This idea integrated polymer solar cells (PSCs) with the organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).
This method uses a less stressful textile. Conventional wearable electronic devices use traditional plastic substrates. When compared to that this technology is more promising and can accelerate the commercialization of wearing electronic devices.
The most important feature is wearing this electronic device in daily life could save energy by its self-powered system.
