SVB Foundation Scholarship Test

4. BACR
BANNARI AMMAN COMMUNITY RADIO 90.4 MHz
BIT, helps students to exhibit their talents in different ways, BACR is one of the great opportunities for the student to manifest the RJ in them.
There is an intimacy to radio that can’t be discovered in any other medium. Listening is a deeply personal experience. It engages the intellect and emotions more directly than television.
Community radio has become an essential tool for the comprehensive development of a community. People can identify, recognize themselves through community radio, besides communicating among themselves.
BACR is essentially a non-profit enterprise initiated by the Bannari Amman Educational Trust, Coimbatore and managed by Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam.

5. 5S – “A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place”
5S is a workplace organization method that uses a list of five Japanese words meaning: “Sort”, “Set In order”, “Shine”, “Standardize” and “Sustain”.
The list describes how to organize a work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order.
Indian organizations have been successfully adopting 5S practices to create a positive and competitive work environment for its employees.

6. Infrastructure – The Place where you live your life to the fullest
BIT has the most beautiful college campus in the surrounding area. It’s probably no surprise to discover that there are plenty of trees peppering the institution’s picturesque campus.

Auditorium
The auditorium is the central and important space in BIT.
The acoustical design of the auditorium is different than any other space in the college. It is because of the specific demands of the performing arts, which distinguish the auditorium from a common lecture hall of BIT.
BIT auditorium provides many students with their first introduction to performing arts, both as audiences and as performers.
The management always strives to provide a space that is highly functional, artistically flexible, easy-to-use and satisfying for performers and audience.
Organic Farm –
To impart the knowledge on organic crop cultivation aspects from seed to harvest, the BIT Agriculture Engineering department has a 10 acres farm along with well-equipped soil science, agriculture, metrology, and crop husbandry labs.
Agriculture students are learning and producing fresh and unadulterated organic products that are healthy for consumption.
The Student Organic Farm is a 10-acre, certified organic year-round teaching and production farm. Planting, Harvesting, Production, Sales and Marketing everything is carried out only by the Agriculture engineering students of BIT.
BITians applying their planning and executing skills in their land, which they learnt as an engineer in their classroom, to farming.
Hostel Facilities –
Hostel life! Wasn’t it a melting-pot of students, each with a unique story and experience, studying, watching movies and living life together?
A high-tech home away from home. Each room is 4 -occupancy with separate cots, wardrobes, reading lights. At each desk, there are connections for power. Each floor has a separate Wi-Fi connections.
11 separate dining facilities for girls & boys with a total seating capacity of 5250 are available with the provision for hot, normal and cold water. Well planned and equipped servicing counters, highly modernized kitchen, cold storage and dish washing machine form a part of residential functions.

7. Fund for Student’s projects
In order to support and encourage the student’s initiative and creativity BIT grants fund for students’ own projects for its development and participation in national and international level events.
The Grants may be used to defray the cost of research materials and supplies, for travel to a research site critical to the project’s completion.
It can be also used for preparing project results for publication or display, or for purchasing materials needed for a creative project.
Funds granted by the management are, in short, designed to give students the support they need to start a project (i.e., seed money) and move that project to completion.
8. Green Initiatives by BIT- A Young Mind Emerges Greatly In A Clean Environment And Under Clarion Sunshine.
Green colleges make a case to consider for a sustainable living when designing and operating their buildings.
Most of the facilities in BIT incorporate natural lighting, improve air quality, and reduce energy and water use.
On BIT campus every nook and corner is adorned with tall trees bearing emerald green leaves and attractive flowers to devise a homogenous feel amongst everyone within the campus.
33% of BIT’s energy demand is met through Solar Power. The Campus is powered by 1000kWp Solar Panels.
Living roofs absorb rainwater and provide insulation while lights on timers save college money as well as energy.
Bannari Amman Institute of Technology has adopted many green cover initiatives, thereby embellishing the eco-friendly ambience of the Campus.
