BIT secured First place in CII SR 5S Excellence Award

“A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place”

5S is a five-step technique for creating and maintaining a good housekeeping at workplace, which makes it free of clutter, well-organized and clean. Once fully implemented, the 5S process can increase morale, create positive impressions on customers and increase efficiency and organization.

The effect of 5S on continuous improvement can lead to less waste, better quality and faster lead times. All of which make an organization more profitable and competitive in the marketplace.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in India’s development process.

Indian organizations have been successfully adopting 5S practices to create a positive and competitive work environment for its employees.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region organizes the 5S Excellence Award annually to motivate and recognize member companies which successfully implement and sustain 5S practices in their organization.

We are elated to make public that Bannari Amman Institute of Technology secured First place in CII SR 5S Excellence Award under the Small scale, Service category.

Previously, Five departments (EEE, ECE, IT, Physics & Chemistry) from BIT were nominated for the CII SR 5S award and the audit by the expert tem was held on 30th of April. Dr A Bharathi, Dr C Poongodi and Dr C Kavitha attended the Award Ceremony and presented the 5S best practices of BIT at Feathers Hotel, Chennai on 14.06.2019.

BIT has also got the Environmental Protection and Management award from the Government of Tamil Nadu for making trans-formative, positive impact on the environment by maintaining pollution free  green campus. To Read More, Click here.
