Drama And Real Life

“Life is like water in a glass drop by drop the glass unfilled”.

Life consists of human activity, the highest object of which is man. Art and Literature are the division of knowledge indivisible from life. Literature, Drama being a part of it, develop directly out of life and brings us into large, close and fresh relations with life. Greater the federation the more will be the worth of that Literature. It is the fundamental phrase of life through the intermediate of Language. It is life itself , so to say , a impression true to everyday life. Drama reverse the great drama of life itself and offers us a true sight of life, true and mirror like. The self expression of the dramatist includes a great deal of our own thoughts and feelings which are again akin to life, so it is not a different character.

It may mean the aptitude of cleverness but this originality implies genius and not uniqueness. The origin of drama has its origin in mimicry, a natural instinct of man. Man tries to enter distinctly  into the situation, attitude and progress of others and puts on a semblance of them in his gestures. Similarly the dramatist has to indulge in the same practices the field extending from the whole life of the universe to a capacity to deposit whatever they chooses . Generally the dramatist has to isolated parts of social life and to present them to itself again in one gross.

“In real life, unlike in Shakespeare, the sweetness of the rose depends upon the name to carry “.

In the drama we see man aligning his capability with others as intellectuals and moral beings. The actions that the dramatist presents are sometimes the renovated pictures of life.The springboard for drama was morality and through religion it penetrated deep into life. It is to say that in the garden field of religion the sources of dramatic art welled up, dividing into many streams, which widen as they run along, traverse the provinces of life. Similar is the cure with Greek, Roman and English Dramas.

“Real life is sloppy and drama is a shaped version of real Life”.

The modernists intellectual  approach to life has its berry  in this great creation. Drama as well as Literature brings us face to face with the  ingenious realities of life. The point of attention is that by bringing ahead  us the virtues and vices of our day to day life, the picture of ours as we are and various aspects of ours (or) other regular  drama makes us Sensible  of what life is , where man stands and how the whole thing looks like. The Secondary importance and to take its teachings is our option but it does hold a mirror to life.

“Inspiration comes from our real life experience”.

The morality play later actually personified Virtues and vices and though they were not as true to life as we are the Interlude in the revived Era of learning, yet their domination was meant to bunt a heavenly light on life. The humor in the interludes were actual men and women, even of English life of the day . A similar affinity can be drawn in two enormous branches of drama, that is classical and romantic. Classical Drama dealt with the great legends of a remote mythological age said by Greek (or) roman Mythology. Its character was  above common place humanity and experience. So, we ambience  that Drama holds a mirror to life in every sense of the word.

“A good dramatic Critic is one who perceives what is happening in theater of his time. A great dramatic critic also perceives what is not happening”.
