CORONA I LOVE YOU – BY MOTHER NATURE

You may wonder why such an idiotic dialogue. It has a deep meaning in itself.

As a nature lover, I could feel the suffocation Mother Nature was undergoing for the past few decades. In all the major metropolitan cities we heard constant hustle of millions of vehicles buzzing here and there; All the factories nearby deafened us with its machineries; dyeing factories constantly colored our drinking water; dust filled our lungs; aquatic organisms in ponds and lakes bathed in hot water; seagulls and kingfishers were beautified with oil spills………… and many more.

We humans polluted our environment to the maximum possible extent we could do. Air pollutants like nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide, Sulphur oxides, toxins and dust entered into our atmosphere causing severe adverse effects. We humans for our sophistication and livelihood constructed many industries and let all our industrial effluents into the nearby water streams without any treatment and also without any hard feeling. We humans are greedy and our egoistic nature led to rapid invention of nuclear weapons to create a threat to other nations. After few weeks of lockdown all around the world, when Mother Nature took a tour. She could see crystal clear water in the rivers of Venice (which was always busy round the clock) and dolphins returned to the shores of Italy, since the throng of holiday makers who flock the canals are gone. The crowded roads are emptied of vehicles and people, business units are shut off and aviations are grounded, surprisingly all the greenhouse gases are within the limits around 51 – 100ppm.

In India there is decrease in the CO₂ levels to 43% in Pune, 50% in Ahmedabad and 38% in Mumbai. Particulate matter which is a compound mixture of small particles, found to decrease in overall by 30% in Delhi, 15% in Ahmedabad and 15% in Pune. Nearly 39 of our major cities are in the level GOOD and 51 cities are in level SATISFACTORY in terms of air pollution.

Now Mother Nature is happily smiling at her soldier “nCovid19” and telling “I love you my dear. You did it. My children will realize that saving me is very important. You can now go back home and take some rest. Will call you be back if humans still do not change their way of life”.
