24th Annual Day Celebration at BIT
It only takes a spark to start a fire. This is true for great scientific discoveries that started off with simple curiosity and ended up revolutionising our way of life. This is also true in the case of our Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, where our beloved chairman’s act of goodwill has become one of the cornerstones in our life.
Now we reached a milestone in our growth, and our BIT has stepped into its 24th year.

As a formal gesture of appreciation for the achievers and for the accomplishments of BIT in the last year, Our Bannari Amman Institute of Technology’s 24th Annual Day was celebrated on Tuesday, 18th February 2020 with great elation and gusto.
The Pomp
The BIT 24th Annual Day ceremony was dignified by the Chief Guest Mr. M Ponnuswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of Pon Pure Chemicals Ltd and The guest of honour, Dr. Sudha Mohanram, Joint Managing Trustee of Sri Eswar College of Engineering.
The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the distinguished assembly of guests.
Dr. P Thangaraj, Dean – Academics welcomed the august gathering and Dr C Palanisamy, Principal presented the annual report accentuating the progress of the institution throughout the year.
The Guests’ Oration
During the annual day function, The Chief Guest, the Chairman and Managing Director of Pon Pure Chemicals Ltd, Mr. M Ponnuswami spoke about the success mantras that helped him and his company grow. Some of the important values upheld by the speaker to become successful include Integrity, maintaining Goodwill, being grateful to people who are helping and decentralizing the power within the organization.

He further outlined the vision of the BIT that aims in imbuing a strong value system in the young aspiring students.
The Guest of honour, Dr. Sudha Mohanram, Joint Managing Trustee, Sri Eswar Engineering College delivered the special address. She spoke at length about the plethora of opportunities that engineers have in today’s world and advised the students to be innovative and to start their own firms.
The Chairman, Thiru S V Balasubramaniam presided over the occasion. In his presidential address, he stated that Education is a second life for everyone. He mentioned the important roles of engineers in today’s world in his speech. And he advised the students to utilise the institution resources well to improve their skills and abilities.
The Trustee, Dr. M P Vijayakumar appreciated the students’ growth in the past year and declared the forthcoming updates in BIT in his special address. He advised the students to move towards self-improvement and success.
Awards Time
Just like sports and games held all the year-round hit on the sports day, all the academic activities held all through the year crown on an annual day.
Finally, the long-awaited moment had arrived, to celebrate and recognise the young achievers.
Dr. K Sivakumar, Dean – Planning, Development & Student Affairs, listed out the names of the meritorious students. The Chief Guest, Mr M Ponnuswami and the Guest of honour, Dr. Sudha Mohanram distributed the awards and medals to the students.
The Annual Day Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the BIT.

Best Outgoing Boy Students 2020
Mr. R. N. Susheel, Final year, Electronics and Communication Engineering bestowed as the Best Outgoing Boy student 2020 and awarded with the Vice-Chancellor Dr. R. Subbaiyyan Gold Medal and a Rolling Cup.
Best Outgoing Girl Student 2020
Ms. V Mithra, Final year, Computer Science and Engineering bestowed as the Best Outgoing Girl student 2020 and awarded with the Tmt. Pankajakshi Subbaiyyan Gold Medal and a Rolling Cup.
The Expression of Gratitude.
The annual exhibition that showcased the outstanding work of the students was appreciated by one and all.
The gratitude to the revered assembly of guests was proposed by V Mithra, the Best outgoing student girl award winner, BIT.
The show held the audience in awe and enchanted, the day concluded on a positive note with a promise of a brighter year ahead!
