A student of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology at Sathyamangalam wins Gold Medal in Taekwondo
S Keerthana, a Taekwondo artist registered a preeminent win of the gold medal in the first Tamilnadu Open State Taekwondo Championship 2019. It was held at Mahatma Gandhi indoor stadium at Salem from 08/02/2019 to 10/02/2019.
Keerthana’s story is an inspiring one. She took up Taekwondo at the age of six after watching her brother pursuing the sport. Later, entering into Bannari Amman Institute of Technology at Sathyamangalam, She pursued Taekwondo with the support of Mr Jaya Raman, Physical Director. He stands as a stanchion monitoring her during practice and enheartens her in all the ways.
Ms Keerthana is studying II year B.Tech specialized in Food Technology. She is such an incredible girl who simultaneously excels in academics also. She said that she has learnt not only to fight but also discipline, equilibrium state of body and high pitch concentration through Taekwondo that helped her to the extreme in Academics.
She said that the reason for her excellence in academics is only because of Taekwondo. Moreover, Taekwondo is a feather to her cap that helped her to attain admission in this reputed institution under sports quota. After entering into our college campus, she has participated in six matches where she has learnt a lot of new things.
With this gold medal our magnificent student Keerthana S is going to participate in All India Championship League on 15 March 2019 at Rohtak, Haryana. She is very much excited and thrilled to travel to North India. She began to love travelling after travelling a lot throughout the country by participating in matches. She has also got an opportunity to serve as a coach at Coaching South Authority of India.
All the delegates in our college congratulated Keerthana on her achievement. Speaking with the student, she said that she has a special bond of eternity with taekwondo and tears overwhelmed her eyes on speaking about her success story.
There are still many numbers of students at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology waiting to tell their success stories to the world.
